使徒保罗在这封写给哥林多教会(在今天的希腊)的信中,斥责了教会里娶继母而犯乱伦行为的人。保罗写这封信的时候,他当时在哥林多对面的以弗所,可以說,身在曹營心在漢,所以说Absent in body, but present in spirit。 从“absent in body, but present in spirit”(身不在而心在)又引申出“present in body, absent in spirit”(身在而心不在,身在曹营心在汉)的習語。老师常常喜欢用后者来形容课堂上走神的学生。
