bible verse

Acts 16:1

meaning

It originated from the Greek name Τιμοθεος (Timotheos) which stands for “honouring God”. In the New Testament, Timothy, whom Paul treated like a son and had high expectations of, accompanied Paul on his missionary journeys. Two of Paul’s epistles were also addressed to Timothy. Some studies found that Timothy was beaten and stoned to death by angry pagans at Ephesus because he protested against the worship of Artemis.
