Romans 16:3
Meaning
It is a Roman name, meaning “eagle” in Latin. In the New Testament, Aquila was the husband of Priscilla. They were tentmakers and together they stayed with Paul in Corinth for some time and sailed for Syria. They parted at Ephesus. In Romans 16:3-4, Paul sent greetings to Priscilla and Aquila and noted that they “risked their necks” to save him.
