bible verse

meaning

The name does not appear in the Bible. It is the Latin form of “Bernice” which came from “Berenice”, an ancient Macedonian form of the Greek name Φερενικη (Pherenike), meaning “victory bringer”. “φερω” (phero) stands for “to bring” while “νικη” (nike) “victory”. In the New Testament, Bernice was a sister of King Herod Agrippa II.
