“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.” (Proverbs 16:18-19) “驕傲在敗壞以先，狂心在跌倒之前。心裡謙卑與窮乏人來往、強如將擄物與驕傲人同分。” (箴言16:18-19)
意思
驕兵必敗。
來源及應用
歷史中驕兵必敗的例子比比皆是。在聖經中，驕傲的國君注定要失敗。國王所羅就是一個例子，他的驕傲致使他在與非利士人的戰爭中一敗涂地。驕兵必敗真是千古不移的道理。
