Meaning
It is of Hebrew origin, carrying the meaning of “lady” and “princess”. In the Old Testament, Sarah was the wife of Abraham. She was originally called Sarai (possibly means “my princess”), but God changed it when He blessed her to have a son and to become the mother of nations from which kings of peoples would rise. She did not give birth to Isaac until she was ninety years old.
