Bible Verse

Exodus 2:10

Meaning

It was derived from the Hebrew name מֹשֶׁה (Mosheh) which carries the meaning of “deliver” or “drawn out of water”. In the Old Testament, Moses was drawn out of the water by the pharaoh’s daughter and therefore was not killed during the genocide. Later on, he was selected by God, together with his brother Aaron, to confront the pharaoh so as to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt. He is commonly well-known for parting the Red Sea and receiving the Ten Commandments from God.
